THE GAME 'FAILED TO RESPOND' TO CIVIL LAWSUIT
Rapper THE GAME is facing a possible $1.5 million (£1 million) pay out after failing to respond to a civil court lawsuit stemming from a 2007 allegation of assault.
The Dreams hitmaker, real name Jayceon Taylor, was arrested in February 2007 for possessing a firearm in a school zone following an altercation on a Los Angeles basketball court.
He later pleaded no contest to the charge, served eight days in jail and is currently carrying out community service as part of his sentence.
But he is now dealing with a new legal problem after basketball coach Shannon Rodrick accused the rapper of punching and threatening him during the incident.
Rodrick filed suit against the hip-hop star in March 2008, but The Game has not responded to the legal action and the coach's lawyers are now seeking a default judgement in the case.
The next hearing is set for 22 April (09) - but if The Game fails to show up in court, he could be forced to hand over the $1.5 million in compensation for the reported attack, according to AllHipHop.com.
