THE DOORS RARITIES UNEARTHED BY BROTHER OF THE BAND'S LATE SECRETARY

Treasured THE DOORS keepsakes are being offered up for auction by the group's online fanzine bosses after the brother of the rock legends' late secretary asked for help in clearing her estate.
The rarities include a 1969 GeeGee Award from 16 Magazine, which editor Gloria Stavers made especially for Jim Morrison, and an original 1969 letter from the Rolling Stones thanking Morrison for a poem he wrote about Brian Jones following the guitarist's death.
The items were all discovered in Ginny Ganahl's home by her brother after her recent death, and are now available via the Doors Collectors Magazine's Strange Days Newsletter online.
Editor Kerry Humphreys tells WENN, "Ginny recently passed away and her brother has enlisted my help to find new caring owners for Ginny's Doors memories.
"I was surprised by a big heavy box sent from Ginny's brother. I'm sure most of you can relate that getting this box was much like Christmas for me with the only draw back being that I didn't get to keep these presents."
The rarities can be viewed at Doors.com.
