THE AUTOMATIC EXPLAIN TV SET TRASHING

LATEST: Rock newcomers THE AUTOMATIC have apologised for trashing the set of a British morning TV show in their underpants, confessing they had no idea they were due to perform until moments before. The group were playing their hit track MONSTER on GM.TV's ENTERTAINMENT TODAY programme in July (06) when mayhem broke out and guitarist JAMES FROST accidentally gashed the cameraman's elbow, prompting fears of legal action. The group quickly admitted they were drunk during the song and remember little of the performance, but slam reports they are unprofessional. Drummer IWAN GRIFFITHS says, "It's not really our fault because we only found out about the gig at 6am that morning. "We were still p**sed from the night before. We had no idea we were going to perform."
