TENNANT WILL RETURN TO THE STAGE IN JANUARY
DOCTOR WHO star DAVID TENNANT will return to the London stage in January (08) after a back injury forced him to pull out of a West End play.
The Scottish actor scrapped his run in Shakespeare's Hamlet earlier this month (Dec08) after suffering a slipped disc and subsequently undergoing surgery to correct the condition.
But the star has now released a statement, apologising to fans who bought tickets to see him perform and insisting he will be back for the play's final week in January (09).
He says, "I am impatient to be back at work and sincerely hope to make it back sometime before the end of the run. I am very sorry to disappoint anyone who booked to come and see me but confident you will be far from disappointed by (understudy) Edward Bennett's performance."
Tennant's run in the play is due to finish on 10 January (09).
