TEENS ADMIRE GELDOF
Campaigning rocker SIR BOB GELDOF has been hailed as teenagers' top role model in a poll by UK youth scheme the Duke of Edinburgh Award. While an impressive 19 per cent of youngsters admire the former BOOMTOWN RATS singer - self-confessed drug addict PETE DOHERTY came bottom of the list with under two per cent of the vote. Other people hailed for setting good examples were business tycoon SIR RICHARD BRANSON, who came third with 16 per cent, and soccer star DAVID BECKHAM, who came fourth with 14 per cent. PETER WESTGARTH, chief executive of project, says, "It's refreshing to see so many young British teenagers looking up to positive role models who have really worked hard on behalf of others and gained recognition for services to the country."
