TEARS CONVINCED MCGRAW TO STAR IN COWBOY MOVIE

Country star TIM MCGRAW was convinced to play a cowboy in new movie FLICKA when reading the film's script made him cry. The 39-year-old initially had no intention of making the stereotypical transition from country artist to cowboy, but he quickly changed his opinion after falling in love with the MICHAEL MAYER-directed movie, which also stars MARIA BELLO and ALISON LOHMAN. He says, "I said, 'No!' when the script first came. I didn't want anything to do with it. I didn't want to play a cowboy, being a country singer. "But the more I read the script, the more I fell in love with it. And it made me cry and it made me laugh. "When I'd start rehearsing the lines with my wife (singer FAITH HILL), I'd tear up and couldn't get through it. As much as I tried to say no, I couldn't talk myself out of it." MCGraw plays a ranch-owner in the movie and Lohman, who plays his daughter, tames a wild horse in a bid to prove she is capable of running the family business.
