TAYLOR-THOMPSON THANKS ZOMBIE FOR ACTING ADVICE
Actress SCOUT TAYLOR-THOMPSON has rocker-turned-director ROB ZOMBIE to thank for helping her win the role of LITA FORD in a new RUNAWAYS biopic - because he coached her for the dream part.
The young star turned to Zombie after auditioning for the parts of Joan Jett and Sandy West - and missing out on both.
And he helped through the casting process until she eventually landed a role as Ford.
She tells Nylon magazine, "He talked me through it and really helped a lot, especially when I had to learn bass and guitar.
"It was a long process. They really liked me, and were just trying to find out which character fit me."
And there's an ironic twist to Taylor-Thompson landing a part in The Runaways movie - she was a real-life teen runaway in 2005.
Then just 16, she hit the headlines when she disappeared in New York for two weeks.
She admits she hardly recalls the incident now and just slept on benches in parks.
She explains, "It was just a mistake, and I learned from it. My parents and I laugh about it now."
