TAYLOR HITS BACK AT CRITICS

SLIPKNOT frontman COREY TAYLOR has slammed suggestions the band's music encourages children to self harm.
The controversial group has previously come under fire over the dark imagery in some of their song lyrics, but Taylor insists the tracks do not influence impressionable youngsters.
And he understands why angst-ridden teenagers feel depressed - he suffered the same problems in his youth.
Taylor says, "If you're setting out to hurt yourself, it's not the music that's causing it. There's something else wrong. We get a lot of kids that cut themselves but I go out of my way to try and stop it.
"It may feel artistic to carve our names in your arm but to us, it's just hurting yourself. As bleak as Slipknot can be, it's supposed to be positive in the long term and the last thing we want is for anyone to hurt themselves.
"I used to be one of those kids and I always try to explain to them that I know what it's like to feel like you're the last person on Earth. All you have to do is reach out and someone will be there."

Your right on Corey! The critics are a bunch of old people who grew up on Lawrence Welk! Its like stupid asses who say "guns kill people". If I stab you with a pencil, the pencil didn't kill you, I did! Music gives people hope and inspiration not the need to kill or harm themselves. I listen to Slipknot every day and love the positive energy it gives me and my 2 kids. Yes they are 9 and 12 and they love Slipknot too. Keep up the "sic" music Corey!

Music does not cause anyone to harm themselves. I grew up watching Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Metallica go through this same awful criticism. I have enjoyed rock n roll and heavy metal my whole life. I am a 33 year old woman with a lovely family, that has been through many bad times and was a very depressed teenager. The music never made that worse. The music made me feel better. And that's all I have to say about that! Brandylion
