TALENT MANAGER/PRODUCER BERNIE BRILLSTEIN DIES AT 77
Legendary talent manager and producer Bernie Brillstein died Thursday of pulmonary disease in Los Angeles at age 77, it was disclosed Sunday. As a manager, his clients included Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels, as well as Not Ready for Prime Time alumni John Belushi, Gilda Radner, and Dan Aykroyd. Martin Short, Brad Pitt and Nicolas Cage also came under his wing. In 1991 he formed a management/production company with Brad Grey, now chairman of Paramount Pictures. In a statement, Grey said on Sunday, "He was a father to me, and he was my mentor and my partner and the godfather of my eldest son, and I'm going to miss him every day for the rest of my life."
