TALENT CONTESTS RULE ON WEDNESDAY
The penultimate editions of the reality shows America's Got Talent on NBC and So You Think You Can Dance on Fox posted winning numbers Wednesday night. A 90-minute edition of Talent averaged a 6.3 rating and a 10 share between 9:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., while Dance registered a 6.9/11 from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The two networks also scored strongly in the earlier hours, with a 90-minute Last Comic Standing, which began at 8:00 p.m., posting a 5.3/9 for NBC. Fox, meanwhile, nabbed an identical 5.3/9 for a repeat of House at 8:00 p.m. At CBS, Rock Star Supernova drew a 4.0/7 at 8:00 p.m., placing third. At 9:00 p.m., a repeat of Criminal Minds lifted CBS to a 6.0/9, while a repeat of CSI:NY pushed the network to a 6.5/11 in the 10:00 p.m. hour. ABC ran back-to-back episodes of Primetime: Medical Mysteries, which drew bigger numbers than the several new programs that it ran earlier in the summer. The first half at 9:00 p.m. recorded a 4.1/7, while the second half at 10:00 p.m. wound up with a 5.1/9.
