TAKE THAT: NO DECENT SONGS AT THE BRITS

The BRIT AWARDS are set to take place on February 20th at London's Earls Court, it has been announced.

However, the UK's biggest music awards show could be devoid of any decent pop tunes, according to TAKE THAT.

The rebounding man-band have claimed they are not too impressed with the competition for the 2008 Brits, apart from their upcoming single RULE THE WORLD.

Lead singer GARY BARLOW told the Sun newspaper: "I'm not sure what the Brits is going to be like this year because there haven't been any massive British records.

"If you think about it, last year in the Best British Single category, there were loads of really strong pop records, but this year there haven't really been any."

One of the biggest songs of the year has been RIHANNA's UMBRELLA.

"But she's not British," pointed out Gary.

Take That's new song has been widely tipped - by record PR firms - to be given the nod for an Oscar as it is on the soundtrack to the forthcoming STARDUST movie.
