SWAYZE TRIED TO KEEP CANCER NEWS FROM MUM
PATRICK SWAYZE tried to keep the news of his cancer diagnosis from his mother so she could undergo eye surgery without any complications.
The late actor revealed all about his cancer battle in a memoir and audio book, The Time of My Life, in the months leading up to his death on 14 September (09).
And in one moving excerpt, he reveals he and brother Don decided not to tell their mum he was dying, so his fight wouldn't interfere with her own medical issues.
The actor explains, "She was having eye surgery the next day and was supposed to try to keep her eyes dry, no crying for a few weeks after the surgery."
But his plan to keep the bad news from his mother was ruined by tabloid journalists, who approached his mum for a comment on her son's diagnosis.
He adds, "Unfortunately, those morally bankrupt souls at the National Enquirer had other ideas... Someone in the medical field tipped them off and a National Enquirer reporter showed up at my mom's house about a week after my diagnosis.
"She opened the door to have a complete stranger ask, 'How do you feel about Patrick having pancreatic cancer?' And that's how she found out."

I noticed no one hardly is writting on patricks sites an this is a shame all of
us are focused on michael jackson an im not even a mj fan , now i really did
like patrick swayze, i liked his movies an the fact he was an animal lover, an
i feel for his wife she not only lost a husband but a good friend, its a real
shame with modern medicine that doctors could not save patrick,one would think
since it started in his pancreis that they could remove it an stop it in its
tracks its hard to loose some one you are close to my mom died in hospice house
in gainesville fl 6/26/03 an i not only lost my mom but my best friend too so i
know how his wife feels,he danced really good an nothing i can say to make the
loss any easier, an scattering his ashes over the ranch in nm that he so loved
it the best thing you can do , so his spirit can walk if you will have it, i
still can not believe patrick has passed away , this saddens me an i am so
sorrie for the loss of your husband mrs swayze, i really understand what you
are going thru, i truly do , may he walk with god thru all eternity ,an im not
really religious at all, an maybe michael jackson is teaching patrick how to
moon walk an patrick is teaching michael how to do dirty dancing but one thing
is for sure this world has lost 3 great people patrick swazyze an michael
jackson, an farrah fawcett may they all be at peace for all eternity an let no
one forget them ever
