SWAYZE STILL 'RESPONDING WELL' TO CANCER TREATMENT
Patrick Swayze has again denied reports that he is struggling in his battle with pancreatic cancer.
The Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with the disease in January 2008 but has responded well to treatment and continued to work on his new police drama The Beast.
And after tabloid newspaper the National Enquirer published a photograph of Swayze appearing gaunt and claimed he was "nearing 'the end'", the 56-year-old has hit out at "inaccurate" coverage of his fight with cancer.
"It's amazing to me that the tabloids such as the National Enquirer print such negative stories about me and my health when there are so many positive things going on in my life right now," he told People.
"I've started a new chemotherapy and, once again, I am one of the lucky ones with pancreatic cancer that is responding well to the treatment."
He continued: "I am starting work on my new book, in addition to enjoying the fantastic response from everyone on my A&E series The Beast.
"I hope in the future, the press will think twice about printing inaccuracies and painting an unpleasant picture when I have so much to be thankful for at this time."
In a recent interview with People he accepted that he had between two and five years to live.
But remaining defiant he added: "I am alive and plan on continuing to stay that way."
