SWAYZE NOT QUITTING SMOKING

Actor PATRICK SWAYZE is refusing to quit smoking even though he accepts his bad habit probably caused his pancreatic cancer.
In a U.S. TV special which airs on Wednesday night (07Jan09), the Dirty Dancing star tells veteran broadcaster Barbara Walters that quitting his tobacco habit is not a priority.
But he states, "I will go so far as to say probably smoking had something to do with my pancreatic cancer."
Swayze says he has "seriously cut back" on cigarettes.
The actor has been battling the killer disease for 12 months, but maintains he is healthy and strong, despite tabloid reports which suggest he's close to death.
