SWAYZE MISSED OUT ON WEREWOLF MOVIE

PATRICK SWAYZE's cancer battle robbed the DIRTY DANCING star of a chance to become a big screen werewolf.
The actor, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday (14Sep09), had been approached to star in First Howl as a movie executive suspected of murder, when he was diagnosed with the disease.
The film would have reteamed the star with C. Thomas Howell, who appeared alongside Swayze in his first big three films, The Outsiders, Red Dawn and Grandview U.S.A.
Clint Morris, who wrote the script for First Howl, reveals Swayze was the perfect choice for the role of Dennis Camrock - and he loved the part.
In a post on his MovieHole.net website, Morris writes, "I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for the role - and as the film was written as somewhat of a love-letter to the 80s, and the product of the era, everyone was in unison... We all agreed it’d be perfect to have Swayze be a part of it.
"It looked good there for a while. We were talking costumes. We were talking drumming up his lines. But then... he got sick. And suddenly Patrick wasn’t taking on any more parts - not immediately anyway. We let it rest."
The film is now in pre-production with Eric Stoltz and 1980s Brat Pack icon Judd Nelson reportedly starring alongside Howell.
