SWANK TO BE FACE OF CANCER HAIR-LOSS CAMPAIGN

Actress HILARY SWANK will be the face of a new charity campaign which aims to support women who've lost their hair during cancer treatment. The Oscar-winning star will front the Pantene Beautiful Lengths drive - which encourages people to grow their hair, cut it off and then donate it to create wigs for women who've lost their hair through cancer - from 2008. Swank has promised to grow out her own locks for the campaign. She says, "I have lost multiple family members to cancer and witnessed their struggle first hand. "I've never heard of anything quite like Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and I'm proud to be asked to promote the goals of such a unique and heartfelt program."

I appreciate so much when I see that people try to help other people in trouble, when they understand serious problems and do their best to decrease pain in people's life. We live in society and should always help each other and especially who is in real trouble. Such people like HILARY SWANK shows us excellent example.

This is a good program. I donated last year after seeing it first promoted by Diane Lane. I used to do Locks of Love (which is a great organization, too, focusing on children) but they are very well supported so I chose Pantene's charity. It's the least one can do. Most of us can say, "it's only hair", "it'll grow back". At least we have the luxury of saying that. Not all people can say that obviously and if a wig can bring a sense of normalcy to a sick person's life, we should all jump on board.
