SUTHERLAND BEGGED CARLYLE TO PLAY 24 ROLE

KIEFER SUTHERLAND was so desperate to land pal ROBERT CARLYLE as his co-star in the upcoming 24 TV movie REDEMPTION, he offered to babysit THE FULL MONTY star's kids.
The actor thought it would be great fun to work with his Scottish pal on location in Africa, and called to personally offer him the part of missionary Carl Benton.
He says, "I called him and said, 'I'll give you whatever you want. I'll wash your car for a year. I'll babysit the kids.'
"He said, 'Actually, I'll do it if you don't babysit the kids.'"
