SUPERMAN PRODUCERS CONSIDERS POLITICAL RUN
The producer of the next SUPERMAN movie is considering a run for political office if XAVIER BECERRA signs up to become President-elect BARACK OBAMA's Commerce Secretary, as reported.
Former Hollywood nightclub boss and socialite Brian Quintana has stated his interest in a run for California's 31st Congressional seat if Becerra steps down.
A former servant of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Quintana will have much of Hollywood on his side as he has many famous friends.
He first ran ran for public office in 1992, when his supporters included movie studio executive Sherry Lansing, Martin Sheen, Anjelica Huston and entertainment mogul David Geffen. He received 5,744 votes for California's 45th Assembly district.
He ran again in 1994, but withdrew to endorse then Assembly candidate, and current Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa.
Of his plans to take over Becerra's seat, the Superman: Man of Steel producer says, "I have been urged to explore a run, and will be talking to past supporters of my political, charitable, and entertainment endeavours. My commitment to public service and strengths in district are well documented, but ultimately my decision will come down to money."
