SUPER FURRY ANIMALS TALK NEW ALBUM
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS have been discussing their ninth studio album which will be released online in March.
The as-yet-untitled album will be the band's first record since 2007's HEY VENUS.
Members of the band have kept busy during the interim, however, with frontman Gruff Rhys working with the Mercury-nominated NEON NEON, while Dafydd Ieuan and Guto Pryce have performed with Rhys Ifans's band THE PETH.
On the subject of the forthcoming album, the band said it is rooted in material they have been developing for some time.
"Musically it's based around riffs and grooves we've been playing around with over the last few years," the band said.
"We have enough now for a whole album so even though it's still very melodic we thought we could leave off the acoustic ballads for the time being."
A full physical release for the album will follow on April 13th.
Miles Kane of THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS recently revealed he is hoping to get Gruff Rhys to produce the band's next album.
