SUM 41 NEARLY SPLIT

Rock band SUM 41 nearly split after their 2005 Chuck tour, because it drained the bandmembers of all their energy and aspirations. Canadian frontman Deryck Whibley confesses he returned from the tour ready to call it a day. He says, "I thought the band was over. I thought that was it for me. I didn't feel there was much purpose any more. We are all really burnt out. We had no more goals. So I went home for six months. During that time I didn't really do anything. "We then fired everyone who worked with us - everyone: manager, agent, the whole lot - and went to make a record."
