SUGARLAND gave BEYONCE's 2007 megahit IRREPLACEABLE an unexpected country spin at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (18Nov07). Singer Jennifer Nettles was joined onstage by Beyonce herself for the quirky, upbeat rendition. The performance was one of the night's highlights - others who shone onstage at the Nokia Theatre included Lenny Kravitz, Celine Dion and Fergie, who opened the show with a medley of hits. Rihanna also performed a classy duet with Ne-Yo, backed by a full orchestra. But Alicia Keys provided the most colourful performance - her rendition of new song No One turned into a reggae block party with Junior Reid, Chaka Demus + Pliers and Beenie Man joining her onstage as Keys joined dancers to show off her moves.
