STUMP: 'WENTZ IS A BETTER FRONTMAN THAN ME'

FALL OUT BOY singer PATRICK STUMP realised how important bandmate PETE WENTZ is after struggling with the limelight during an MTV show.
The rocker provides the band's lead vocals, but isn't bothered that bass player Wentz receives all the media attention.
And after Wentz took a break from the group to welcome his first son Bronx Mowgli in November (08), Stump began to appreciate the way his friend commands the spotlight.
He says, "I get asked all the time, 'Is it weird that Pete gets all the attention?' Yes, but not for me... When Bronx was born, we had to do MTV's last TRL (Total Request Live) without Pete. In his absence, I was the natural go-to guy. I was totally lost. I had no idea what I was doing.
"Taylor Swift came up and talked to me. I'm a remotely articulate guy, and I was swearing like a sailor. And then Snoop came up to me and I thought, 'I should be watching this on TV and not be here.' I wasn't very good at the schmoozing and high-fiving.
"I was never a cool kid, which is why I was in a band. It brings up the irony. People tell us our music is really good to work out to. I was so dreadfully bad in athletics. That's why I started the band. I actually have no problem with it (Wentz taking the lead).
