STUDENTS CHALLENGE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE OVER CANCELLED CONCERT

Rockers MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE face a potential lawsuit from the University Of Maine after the band cancelled a recent show there. The group was scheduled to perform at the university on 27 October (07), but axed the show at the last minute due to a "medical issue" involving drummer Bob Bryar. According to Gigwise.com, student officials have requested $20,500 (GBP10,250) to cover costs, in letters sent to the band's management, and now insist they want the cash by 12 November (07) or the matter will become legal. My Chemical Romance have offered to reschedule the concert, but the students have declined the offer, stating they want the cash they're owed for advertising and promoting the cancelled show instead. In college newspaper the Maine Campus, the president of student entertainment, Derek Mitchell, writes, "Unless it is truly due to sickness or injury of the band, we intend to seek full damages for breach of contract."
