STROKES BASSIST LAUNCHES SOLO PROJECT
THE STROKES bassist Nikolai Fraiture has been talking about his new solo project NICKEL EYE.
It has been almost three years since THE STROKES' last album FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF EARTH and Fraiture said he used the break to work on some of his own material, reports BBC 6 Music.
His new solo album features contributions from REGINA SPEKTOR and Nick Zinner of the YEAH YEAH YEAHS.
"When no-one in The Strokes was really up for getting back together sooner than later, I just put the words to music," he said, "and added some other stuff and just decided to release it."
However, he went on to say that it was a temporary arrangement and that he was looking forward to playing with the New York outfit again.
"I think by now I could add a new element to The Strokes when we get back together in February, I hope."
