STREETS BASSIST CONTRACTS SWINE FLU
THE STREETS have been forced to cancel two gigs this weekend after bass player WAYNE VIBES was diagnosed with swine flu.
The British group was scheduled to perform concerts in Leicester, England on Saturday (15Aug09) and Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday (16Aug09), but frustrated frontman Mike Skinner has scrapped the shows, revealing he has only recently been given the "all clear" from swine flu himself.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "It is with sincere regret that we've had to cancel this weekend's shows. I want to cry. Just as I get the all clear, my bass player Wayney is diagnosed with swine flu."
He's not the first British star to be hit by the pandemic - two members of pop group the Sugababes have been hit by the disease, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is a survivor and organisers of the Glastonbury festival in June (09) were put on high alert when three revellers were diagnosed with swine flu.
