STONE TEMPLE PILOTS PLAN NEW MATERIAL

Reforming rockers STONE TEMPLE PILOTS are planning to release new material later in 2008.
The band recently reunited after nearly five years apart, following frontman Scott Weiland's departure from supergroup Velvet Revolver last month (Mar08).
They announced a four-month long U.S. tour - and now bassist Robert DeLeo has hinted new tracks may follow.
He says, "I think new material will come probably after this tour. I think the whole thing now is kind of getting back and re-acclimating ourselves to the songs that we know. I think that's gonna make for a better atmosphere and better performances instead of doing a new record. Then, after this tour finishes, I think we're gonna be in a position where we've gotten to know each other again, and I think it's gonna be time to hit the studio."
Weiland recently revealed the band may shun record labels and conventional albums to release material online.
