STONE: 'SOUL LYRICS OFFER LOVE CLUES FOR GUYS'

Singer JOSS STONE has urged men to pay attention to the lyrics of soul classics - because the words offer tips on how to be the perfect lover. The British soul star insists Stax and Motown standards offer clues on how to woo a woman - and even modern singers like herself and India.Arie know how to turn a song into a love anthem. She says, "It's in all those household songs: 'Love me better, I want to love you right, don't stand me up, don't disrespect me.' Soul lyrics are the guide to the way women think. "India.Arie wrote a song called Talk To Her. It goes, 'Don't get smart with her, have a heart-to-heart with her, just like you would with your daughter.' That's good advice."
