STONE IMPRESSED WITH FARRELL'S DRINKING HABITS
Director OLIVER STONE was so impressed with COLIN FARRELL's alcohol consumption, he offered him the title role in 2004's ALEXANDER on the spot.
The Phonebooth star met with the filmmaker over dinner in L.A. to discuss a role in the 2004 movie, and was intoxicated by the time he and Stone began chatting.
But Stone admits he found Farrell's drunkenness endearing - despite talking loudly and smashing glassware.
He says, "Poor Colin. He was, I think, trying to impress me a little bit too much.
"He was pissed before the dinner, but hey! I remember it was a fancy restaurant and I think he smashed two wine glasses by accident. His voice was kinda loud at one point and people were looking at him, but I liked it."
