STIPE TO PRODUCE MANILOW MOVIE

R.E.M. star MICHAEL STIPE and BARRY MANILOW are to team up for the year's most unlikely pop/rock pairing.
Stipe and his Single Cell production partner Sandy Stern have snapped up the rights for a new romantic comedy which centres around a Manilow concert in Las Vegas.
Tom Hanks will co-produce the project along with Manilow's manager Garry Kief.
The untitled film will feature Manilow's music and the Mandy singer has pledged to support the movie and perhaps appear in it.
According to Variety, the film will feature intersecting storylines involving Manilow fans arriving in Las Vegas to see their hero at the Mandalay Bay resort.
