STING HAPPY WITH OPERA ROLE

STING and ELVIS COSTELLO hope to improve their rock credentials with their roles in an upcoming opera.
The Police frontman will join forces with fellow rocker Costello in a five-night production of Welcome to the Voice at the Theatre Du Chatelet in Paris, France from Friday (21Nov08).
And he feels the unique experience of performing as an opera singer will help enhance his and Costello's rock career.
Sting says, "It is important sometimes to get outside your comfort zone and just see what happens. Neither of us has done this out of a sense that we're great enough to do opera now.
"We are here to learn something, but I think that about most things. We are here to learn about how we can expand what we do as rock singers."
