STEWART AND LANCASTER STAY QUIET OVER WEDDING PLANS

Veteran rocker ROD STEWART and long-term love PENNY LANCASTER are refusing to confirm the location of their June wedding - in a bid to keep the ceremony private. Stewart announced their wedding date would be 16 June, at a celebrity bash over the weekend (02-03Jun07), but the couple are yet to confirm or deny they will wed in the rumoured location of Portofino, Italy. Lancaster says, "It's going to be wonderful. For me it's just that romantic girl's dream of your father walking down the aisle with you and all your friends and family coming together. "It's once in a lifetime, so it's going to be perfect. "(The location) is one of those things we'd like to keep really private." Photographer Lancaster, 36, insists she isn't put off by the couple's 26-year age gap or Stewart's previous history as a lothario. She enthuses, "We've been together nearly eight years now and there's not much we don't know about each other. We're entering into the seriousness of marriage and the commitment for life, and we couldn't be more sure about it than we are now." The couple have a one-year-old son Alastair Wallace.
