Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler says he isn't quitting Aerosmith only two days after guitarist Joe Perry said the band were looking for someone to replace him
Steven Tyler isn't quitting Aerosmith.
Despite the band announcing they were looking for a new lead singer Tyler made a surprise appearance at Perry's solo concert in New York on Tuesday (10.11.09) to assure he is still in the band.
Tyler said: "I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith.
"Joe Perry, you are a man of many colours. But I, mother*****r, am the rainbow!"
Rumours Steven had quit began to circulate after the singer told a reporter he was going to focus on "Brand Tyler" earlier this month.
Just two days ago (09.11.09), Perry wrote on twitter: "Aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin.
"Band is playing hotter than ever and our songs need to be played live! Don't despair; Aerosmith not splitting up. Promise that's the last you'll hear from me on the subject till we gear up again.(sic)"
Perry also revealed there is an album's worth of new Aerosmith material awaiting Tyler's input and vocals.
