STEPHENS' BAD HAIR DAY
British actor TOBY STEPHENS struggled to perfect his smouldering look playing one of literature's greatest heroes - when his hair extensions fell out. The DIE ANOTHER DAY heart-throb stars as JANE EYRE's MR ROCHESTER in a current BBC adaptation of the classic novel, but Stephens had a hair-raising experience in the make-up department to secure the trademark wild tresses and bushy sideburns. He recalls, "The hair extensions kept falling out at really inopportune times. "I was at a dinner party sitting beside this woman who I didn't really know. At one point she looked down at my shoulder in horror and asked 'What on earth is that? pointing at a dead extension which had fallen out with the horrible waxy blob on the end. "The problem with doing period dramas is that you do look like a weirdo for months."

Toby Stephens was phenomenal in Jane Eyre...hair extensions and
all...definitely not a weirdo, but by far the most handsome "rake" ever.
Another actor whom ought to be in more stage and film productions.
