STARTER FOR TEN SAVED BY THE CURE
The success of low budget British movie STARTER FOR TEN is all thanks to THE CURE rocker ROBERT SMITH, according to director TOM VAUGHN. Smith offered to score the film - which is set in the 1980s - because he's a fan of the DAVID NICHOLLS novel it's based on. When he couldn't find time he let the filmmakers use the band's tracks for next to nothing. Director TOM VAUGHAN says, "He's a huge fan of the book and offered to do the film score. When it turned out that he couldn't, he gave us an amazing deal on song rights. "Other artists heard and followed suit."
