STARS UNITE FOR LUTHER KING JR MEMORIAL BENEFIT GIG

STEVIE WONDER, ARETHA FRANKLIN, CARLOS SANTANA and BEN AFFLECK are joining forces at a benefit concert to raise funds for a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington, D.C. The Radio City Music Hall gig in New York City on 18 September (07) will feature performances from Wonder, Franklin, Santana, Robin Thicke, Bebe Winans, Cece Winans and Jessye Norman. More acts are to be confirmed. Actor Affleck, basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal and American football star LaDainian Tomlinson will form host committee at the event, which will be hosted by U.S. TV weatherman Al Roker. The Martin Luther King Jr. memorial will be built on the National Mall in Washington.
