STARS LINE UP FOR HARD-HITTING HIP-HOP LESSONS
PRINCE, KRS-ONE and OUTKAST star ANDRE 3000 have teamed up with civil rights activist Dr Cornel West for a new album project to promote hip-hop.
The trio will join the likes of Talib Kweli, Killer Mike and the late Gerald Levert on Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations, the brainchild of learned West and his brother Clifton.
Artists appearing on the album tackle hard-hitting subjects like 9/11, racial profiling, the U.S. government and the use of the 'N' word, according to Billboard.com.
West says, "It isn't a commentary on hip-hop and I'm not coming in as a hip-hop scholar or critic. This is an attempt to go back to hip-hop's prophetic roots, which are about truth-telling, exposing lies and having fun."
