STAR TREK'S BARRETT-RODDENBERRY LAID TO REST
STAR TREK fans donned full costumes to bid a final farewell to actress MAJEL BARRETT-RODDENBERRY at her funeral on Sunday (04Jan09).
Barrett-Roddenberry, the widow of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, lost her battle with leukaemia at her California home in December (08) at the age of 76.
The show's devastated fans paid tribute to the star by dressing up as characters from the long-running series at an open service at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills cemetery.
The sci-fi followers joined celebrity mourners, including Barrett-Roddenberry's former co-stars Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols and George Takei.
Barrett-Roddenberry played Nurse Christina Chapel in the original programme and was the voice of the USS Enterprise's computer in the franchise's numerous spin-offs, including J.J. Abrams' forthcoming big-screen adaptation.
