STALLONE REFUSED TO SET RAMBO IN IRAQ

Hollywood actor SYLVESTER STALLONE reconsidered setting his new RAMBO movie in the Middle East out of respect for the U.S. soldiers currently fighting there. The Rocky star thought about using Iraq or Afghanistan for the next installment in the film series but chose Burma instead to avoid upsetting servicemen. Stallone, 61, who is reprising the action role for a fourth time, also decided the movie would be more "real" if it was set in the jungles of northern Thailand. He says, "I thought it (setting the film in Iraq or Afghanistan) would be an insult to the men who are fighting, to think that a fictional character could come and change everything. "I thought Burma would be much more real. " The forthcoming movie, simply titled Rambo, is due for release next month (Feb08).
