SPRINGSTEEN LASHES OUT OVER TICKET SCANDAL

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN has blasted reports he is to blame for an online ticket scandal that forced fans to pay higher prices for a show on his tour.
Fans of the Born to Run hitmaker were left furious when they were unable to buy certain seats from the Ticketmaster.com website in February (09) for Springsteen's New Jersey show, and were redirected to another agency charging a higher price.
The agency agreed to pay out $350,000 (£233,335) to the state of New Jersey and held a random ticket draw for 1,000 fans who filed complaints, after Springsteen dubbed the incident an "abuse of our fans and our trust".
But a recent article published in The Star-Leger, blaming the rocker for withholding the best tickets to his New Jersey shows from the public and selling them for an inflated rate, has prompted The Boss to fire back once again.
Accusing Ticketmaster bosses of running a "bait and switch" operation, Springsteen's manager Jon Landau has stepped up to defend his client.
He tells the New York Daily News, "Unlike some Ticketmaster-managed artists, no (Springsteen) tickets are held for high dollar resale on TicketsNow, or through any other means."
