SPRINGSTEEN CANCELS SHOW AFTER COUSIN'S DEATH
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN scrapped his concert in Kansas City, Missouri on Monday night (26Oct09) after the death of his cousin.
The Boss was due to play a sold-out show at the Sprint Center but decided to cancel the gig after his cousin Lenny Sullivan was found dead in a hotel room.
According to reports, Sullivan also acted as assistant tour manager for the Born in the U.S.A. hitmaker.
A statement on the star's website says, "Due to a death in Bruce's immediate family, tonight's show at Sprint Center has been unavoidably cancelled. All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Bruce and The Band deeply appreciate the understanding of our Kansas City audience and look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity."
Kansas City police officer Rich Lockhart states the death is under investigation, but it is not considered to be suspicious.
