SPIRIT KEYBOARDIST DIES
JOHN LOCKE, the keyboard player with Los Angeles jazz/rock band SPIRIT, has died of complications from lymphoma. He was 62. The hippie rocker passed away on 4 August (06) at the house of his friends RICKY and CINDY DEL TORO in Ojai, California. Locke worked alongside late guitar hero RANDY CALIFORNIA in the band, who first hit the US charts in 1968 with I GOT A LINE ON YOU. Locke is survived by his mother, Marty, and by his son, Alex, 18.
