SPECTOR PREPARES FOR SENTENCING

Music mogul PHIL SPECTOR will learn his fate today (29May09) when he returns to court for sentencing following the outcome of his murder retrial.
In April (09), the record producer was found guilty of the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. He faces a minimum sentence of 15 years to life in prison for second-degree murder.
Judge Larry Paul Fidler, who presided over the 69 year old's trial and retrial, will decide whether to add on as many as 10 additional years for the use of a firearm.
The prosecution has recommended four more years; the defence has asked for three.
The best Spector can hope for is that he'll be first eligible for parole at 77.
The producer's lawyers have vowed to appeal the conviction.
The dead actress' mother, Donna Clarkson, is expected to make a short statement before the sentencing begins at 11am local time.
She has filed a civil wrongful death suit against Spector.
The producer, whose request to wear a suit to court has been granted, has been behind bars since his conviction on 13 April (09). He is not expected to speak in court.
