SPECTOR FORCED TO GO BALD DURING PRISON SENTENCE

Convicted murderer PHIL SPECTOR has been forced to relinquish his wigs and go bald after corrections officers deemed his hair pieces were not essential to his health.
The legendary music producer, 69, was convicted in April (09) of killing actress Lana Clarkson in 2003 and was sentenced to 19 years to life last month (29May09).
Spector, known for his elaborate hairstyles over the years, was forced to forgo his wig last Friday (05Jun09) when he was snapped for a new mugshot - and is shown bald with strands of stringy hair on the sides.
Prison regulations forbid wigs and hairpieces unless they are deemed medically necessary.
And Spector has turned to religion to help him adjust to life behind bars - his publicist Hal Lifson says the producer is wearing a Jewish yarmulke in his cell and is conferring regularly with a prison rabbi.
He is being processed and evaluated at the North Kern State Prison in Delano, California before being sent to another jail where he will serve his sentence.
