SPAMALOT TOPS LAURENCE OLIVIER NOMINATIONS

The London production of MONTY PYTHON musical SPAMALOT has been nominated for seven of Britain's prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards. The West End stage show, based on the 1975 film MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, has netted nominations including Best Actor In A Musical for TIM CURRY, Best Actress In A Musical for HANNAH WADDINGHAM and Best New Musical. STEPHEN SONDHEIM's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE took six nominations including Best Director for SAM BUNTROCK, Best Actor In A Musical for DANIEL EVANS and Best Actress In A Musical for JENNA RUSSELL. FROST/NIXON stars FRANK LANGHELLA and MICHAEL SHEEN are both up for Best Actor, while the PETER MORGAN production is up for Best New Play. The Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony takes place in London on 12 February (07).
