SPACEY WINS TONYS BATTLE
KEVIN SPACEY has won his battle with U.S. TV bosses over their plans to cut part of the Tony Awards broadcast.
Spacey bombarded CBS chiefs with complaints after discovering several awards wouldn't be shown on Sunday night's (7Jun09) telecast, in favour of song and dance productions from nominated Broadway shows.
And they have relented and agreed to air the full show, including the previously omitted Best Revival of Play award category in which Spacey is nominated for his work on The Normal Conquests.
The Tonys take place at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night.
