SPACEY HANDS BACK OLD VIC SALARY

KEVIN SPACEY waives his annual salary of $180,000 (GBP100,000) as artistic director of the Old Vic, to help the London theatre keep itself solvent. Although Spacey does accept a tiny fee for any acting parts he accepts at the Old Vic, the generous star refuses to keep his artistic director wages. He says, "People are beginning to see I'm serious about this. We're not in a rush. I'm here for a long time." Spacey is trying to raise $1.8 million (GBP1 million) for the theatre each year.
