SPACEY AND TURNER SCORE LONDON THEATRE NODS

Hollywood stars KEVIN SPACEY and KATHLEEN TURNER have both been nominated for Evening Standard Theatre Awards after wowing London audiences over the last 12 months. Spacey earns a Best Actor nod for his role in a revival of EUGENE O'NEILL's A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, but he faces stiff competition from American actor BILL IRWIN, who's nominated for his role in a revival of EDWARD ALBEE's 1962 marital warfare drama WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Turner also receives a Best Actress nomination for her role in the Albee revival. FROST/NIXON, a new play investigating what happened behind the scenes when English broadcaster DAVID FROST interviewed disgraced former US President RICHARD NIXON for British television in 1977, also scores several nominations, including two Best Actor nominations for MICHAEL SHEEN and RUFUS SEWELL. The 52nd Evening Standard Theatre Awards take place at central London's The Savoy Hotel on 27 November (06).
