SOUNDGARDEN 'REUNION' ORGANISED BY CORNELL'S EX

The mini-SOUNDGARDEN reunion at a recent TOM MORELLO concert was organised by absent frontman CHRIS CORNELL's ex-wife SUSAN SILVER.
Former bandmates Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron took the stage with Tad star Tad Doyle for the surprise three-song encore at Seattle, Washington's Crocodile Cafe on 24 March (09).
And Doyle reveals the get together was a last-minute deal organised by Cornell's ex, Soundgarden's former manager.
He tells MetalSucks.com, "I got a call that Sunday evening from Susan, their manager, and she said, 'Hey, Kim and Matt and Ben wanted to know if you'd be interested in playing a few Soundgarden songs at the Crocodile.'
"I'm like, 'Are you s**ttin' me? I'd love to!'
"So that's how it came about, and then we got together that Monday to rehearse for a couple hours. Then we just went up Tuesday and did it... It worked out pretty good... I was just glad to be a part of it... That's what I was in it for - to have fun."
But Doyle, who renamed the band Tadgarden for the show, insists there won't be a repeat performance: "As far as I know, it's just a one-off thing. Cool things happen that way."
Cornell admits he was stunned when he heard about the reunion - but he thought the idea was "cool".
He says, "I thought it was cool that they'd actually get together and rehearse some songs."
Soundgarden split in 1997 after 12 years together.
