SOUNDGARDEN DEMISE LEFT CORNELL ANOREXIC

AUDIOSLAVE frontman CHRIS CORNELL felt so depressed following the demise of his former group SOUNDGARDEN in 1997, he became anorexic. Cornell, now a happily married father-of-two, insists he didn't make a conscious decision to stop eating - he simply forgot to prepare meals because he was so consumed by negative emotions. Cornell only came to his senses when he read an article which made him realise how unhealthy he had become. He tells American magazine Blender, "There was a time when I basically stopped eating. I wasn't doing it to lose weight or anything - I just forgot to eat. "I read an article by a doctor talking about his experiences with anorexia, and everything started to make sense - the aches, the way my bones felt as if I could bend them with my hands. I started eating again."
