SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR GIVES BIRTH TO SON NINE WEEKS EARLY
Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has given birth to her second son nine weeks prematurely.
The Catch You singer, who suffered pre-eclampsia during her first pregnancy, is "doing well" after giving birth to Kit Valentine.
The newborn, who is currently in an incubator, weighed in at just 2lb 10oz (1.19 kg).
"Sophie's just had her second little baby boy," confirmed the singer's mother, former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis.
"He was early, nine weeks early, but he is doing fine."
Ellis-Bextor's first son Sonny, now four, was born via an emergency caesarean section after Ellis-Bextor suffered pre-eclampsia, a form of high blood pressure which endangers the life of both mother and baby.
Married to Richard Jones, guitarist with the Feeling, Ellis-Bextor has had six solo top ten hits and topped the charts with her vocals on Spiller's 2000 dance hit Groovejet (If This Ain't Love).
